HR Coils (Hot Rolled Coils) are essential steel products manufactured by rolling steel slabs at extremely high temperatures (above their recrystallization temperature) into continuous, tightly wound rolls. Production: Steel slabs are heated and passed through massive rollers to achieve the desired thickness, then cooled and coiled for transport. Cost: Because the manufacturing process does not require reheating or additional finishing delays, HR coils are generally much cheaper than Cold Rolled (CR) steel. Finish: They feature a distinctive dark gray or silvery-blue finish with a rough "mill scale" texture, which makes them highly malleable and easy to weld.
